Shimmering Ripples & Waves - Create Along Box Projects

Klio Tsakili shares some amazing shimmering projects created with elements from the Ripples & Waves Create Along Box!
This is a necklace I made using the wavy flexible stencil included in my September Create Along Box. Background clay is a combination of Cernit Metallics and Premo Accents skinner blend on top of which I stenciled with white acrylic color. When acrylic dried completely I applied on top of it
some colorful mica powders to give it the color and shine you see in the picture. Then I gave it this wavy shape by folding it a bit. A hollow tube is attached at the back side, which holds together all the seed bead strands. Finally I placed the tiny ceramic cabochons using a liquid clay to hold them in place. I cured the liquid clay up to the point it was not liquid so it could hold the ceramic cabochons in place, and then popped it into the oven, baked as usually and added the beaded strands.
Shiny brooch made of a Skinner blend using Cernit Metallics new colors. After making the Skinner blend I cut it with the ripple blade and placed them again together alternating the ends in a way so that both sides of the Skinner blend could have the entire color range.
The strips were placed on a thin sheet of clay to hold them together, then textured with a crackle stamp and shaved to a mica shift finish! Finally, I folded the sheet according to my Fabriclay technique.

Creations from the Enchantment CreateAlong Box

Klio Tsaliki got her box late, but that didn't stop her from sharing some amazing pieces!
This time my box arrived with a delay of 10 days (postmen go on vacations as well), so I had not enough time to enjoy my box and make things as I wanted. But I could not resist to Angelina fibers and had to make some pieces.
I tried some stamps I had at home and made this piece out of Angelina fibers and
stamped it. I love this material, it is pure hidden magic! So, I just placed the fibers on top of the texture sheet, and ironed over a wax paper.
Using another stamp I made an Angelina sheet and then cut it in pieces.  Made some beads and earring pieces. I even used some finely cut pieces of the fibers to make the donut bead at the bottom, which then was sealed with transparent liquid clay.
I used Angelina fibers a couple of years ago for the first time and loved it! These beads are covered with translucent polymer clay and have inclusions of
Angelina fibers.
The August Box included a beautiful rose silkscreen; it is my favorite so far. I made a pair of earrings and a pendant using opposite colors. I wish I had more time to
try all my little treasures.
The beads shown in the first photo were a last minute project: Opposite color summer beads with golden leaf.

Mermaid Pool Mixed-Media Box - By The Sea Create Along Box

Sandy Huntress used items from the By The Sea Create Along Box to create this fantastic decorative mixed-media box!

This sweet little box is the perfect place to store all your beachy treasures! Cover it in textures from the Motion of the Ocean stamp, then add pearly shimmer if you like. Use shells, beads and charms to create a mermaid pool topper. You can tell a mermaid just left by the sprinkling of sand and scales she left behind.

Ocean Themed Polymer Clay Pendants - By the Sea Create Along Box

Cindi McGee has been using many of the items from the By the Sea Create Along Box to create summer pendants.

She used the seashell printed Magic Transfer Paper to create the background for this starfish pendant.

Cindi used the nautilus shell silkscreen, the Motion of the Ocean rubber stamp, and a metal starfish and clam shell charms from the box to create this unique gold & blue pendant.

She also used the nautilus shell silkscreen, the Motion of the Ocean rubber stamp, one of the metal starfish charms, and some of the glass beads from the box to create this open centered dimensional pendant.  Cindi will be sharing a tutorial for this pendant in the August PCU Magazine!

Japanese Influenced Pendant - Create Along Box Project

Cindi McGee created this bold Japanese influenced pendant with her Japanese Influenced Create Along Box!   Items she incorporated from the box include:

  • Ginkgo Silkscreen Stencil
  • Ginkgo Texture Sheet
  • Deco Disc Lotus Flower Stamp
  • Faux gemstones from Dragonfly Dreams Create Along Box
  •

The resin coating obscures the ginkgo texture a bit in the photo - but you can see how fabulous the texture sheet worked in this "in progress" photo.

Decorative butterfly stick for flower pots and other use. Made with the butterfly
deco disc with the textured butterfly. Stamped on white clay (using some baby powder to avoid sticking). Then cut out and applied soft colored mica powders to highlight the texture.  The craft stick is glued with hot glue inside the hole of the holding part.
Really Bollywood butterfly made of a thick skinner blend in rainbow colors. Glitter was applied and then the silk screen using white acrylic painting. The body is made of colorful rhinestones. Feelers and tail are made of wire and inserted in the body before baking. Two big rhinestones are glued on the feelers. It is a huge butterfly!
Extruded cords were formed in a cane and sliced, then stuck on a thick sheet of clay. Feelers are again decorated with tiny rhinestones. Jewelry pieces in
several sizes, one of them has attached a small pin at the back side and will be
used as brooch. Made using the 3 size cutters.
Transfer butterfly, painted with glitter markers, decorated with rhinestones and sealed with two layers of liquid clay. Fixed on a green polymer clay basis and covered with faux greenery for a natural look.
The flagship of the Bollywood butterfly fleet. Giant piece made with two layers,
one glittered and one textured. Black shape was textured with the texture
sheet and then some Interference mica powder was applied on it. Then, several
shapes were cut off the black sheet making it a see through piece. The second layer is a skinner blend in rainbow hues, glittered and shiny. Bake and Bond glue kept the two layers together. The piece is decorated with colorful glass flat back hot fix rhinestones. Feelers and tail made of wire and decorated with bigger rhinestones. The butterfly has a body under the two layers which is glued on a giant wooden clothes pin, painted with DECOART metallic color (was included in a previous Create Along Box!). Some hand painted golden patterns were added to complete the Bollywood touch.

    Music Soothes the Soul Mixture
    March 30, 2018

    Music Soothes the Soul Mixture

Today we share a creative mixture of projects made by artist Klio Tsaliki using a variety of items from the Music Soothes the Soul Create Along Box!

Tin box covered with polymer clay and painted with the beautiful DecoArt metallic paint. Texture was made with several tools, among them the sculpting tools included in the Create Along Box.

The top part is made using my napkin technique and is decorated with small glass rhinestones and sealed with 2part epoxy resin.

Bottom side is made using extruded clay and is painted also with the same DecoArt blue metallic paint.
Several double sided jewelry pieces. I used the silk screen and the transfer paper as well, each one for the corresponding side.

I like the “old” look of the white part; in fact it was never white; I used a mix of white and beie to create this “old” look.

Double sided earrings made of black clay and using the silk screen and the stamp for the corresponding sides. Both sides are music themed, one with the texture and one just silkscreened.

Resin jewelry set. Some joyful notes are floating inside the shapes.
