        FOCUS ISSUES: Texture

In March of 2017, CreateAlong set out on a new adventure. We began publishing a monthly digital polymer clay magazine. At first, it was called Polymer Clay Universe. Fast forward, to when it was decided we would delve into the world of PRINT in addition to digital in 2019. Passion for Polymer magazine was born. Since that very first issue, we’ve strived to bring our readers a unique mix of tutorials and articles, at a variety of skill levels, from artists around the world. It’s been a pleasure sharing not only well known polymer artists, but also publishing emerging artists deserving of having their work shared with the world. Yet, we also know the needs and wants of creators change. Recently, challenges with supply chains effecting our printer caused us to have to revert back to digital only. But, what we are discovering is that “just a magazine” is not enough anymore to maintain subscribers, people want interaction, they want beyond what the magazine can offer. So, with pride in all we’ve accomplished with this magazine, it is time that we say goodbye to Passion for Polymer. Some of our wonderful contributing artists will continue to share their amazing tutorials in the monthly Creative Clay Club, and we welcome you all to join us there for not just these tutorials, but so much more.

Our final magazine issue focuses on texture. Our cover artist is Shelley Atwood. Her designs are incredibly artistic, wonderfully composed, and full of delicious color and texture. Read about her “finding kismet” with polymer clay, and see more of her work in this issue. The Polymer Chef creates a gorgeous “Texture to the Max” project. Klio Tsaliki creates an amazing bowl with organic texture. Anastasia Kondel has a fun pair of mosaic earrings. Luz Mendez shares a colorful floral slab just in time for spring. And, Sandy Huntress takes you on a texture treasure hunt. And of course, Jessica Hager shares a wonderful palette in The Color Corner.

As always, our Gallery has many unique projects to inspire you! Thank you to all who have participated in our monthly challenges! Our gallery has always been a favorite of our readers.

There are still MANY opportunities with CreateAlong for you to share your tutorials and ideas. You can submit your ideas to teach/share a tutorial at PolymerClayClub.com

Thank you for your support since we began this adventure, and as we move forward to a new creative journey which we hope you will take along with us.

        Why buy CreateAlong?

We've been supporting the clay + crafting community since 2007. Kira has a B.S. in Art Education and has been teaching since she was 13- her first job as a summer camp counselor. Our tools are thoughtfully designed, tested, and many have product demos on our YouTube channel @polymerclaytv, with over 800 videos ready to watch.

        FAQ's

        Who makes the products?

We are a small business woman-owned and operated from north Florida. Kira is the owner and designer, Shannon is the Mistress of Manufacture operating our 3d printers, lasers, and other equipment, and Erin is our Shipping Elf.

A very few of our products- such as our metal sculpting tools, are curated wholesale from various places since we do not have metal manufacturing capabilities in our in-house shop.

How can I care for my products so they last?

To ensure long life, you should always use a soft cloth and water if necessary to remove excess clay, paint, mica powders, or glue residue from the tools immediately after use.

Especially for silkscreens- paint must be rinsed away before it dries on the screen or else you may permanently ruin it by clogging the tiny holes.

        Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to Canada and Australia here - we ship everywhere else on Etsy because of the current state of the USPS. Etsy has more protection- for you, and for us, with international packages. Shop our ETSY.

What if I don't like what I bought? Return policy?

If you don't like what you purchased, you can claim a store credit for the item within 60 days for 90% of the product purchase price. Or, send it back unused within 60 days for 100% refund on the product purchase price.

        What if something arrives broken?

We have a no-risk policy. If something is broken in the mail please email us a photo (we really want to see what happened so we can fix the issues) and we'll send you a new one.

How do you ship? How long does it take, and do I get tracking?

We use USPS Ground Advantage for most packages. We try to ship within a day or two of your order. Sometimes- because our Mistress of Manufacture lives over an hour from the shipping workshop, it may take a little longer if we are waiting on supplies to be restocked. You will receive tracking via email and you can log in to your account to see past orders and tracking.
