Beads Aplenty with the By the Sea Create Along Box
Klio Tsaliki created some gorgeous beads with her By the Sea Create Along Box!
My July Create Along box arrived full of sea breeze and ocean themed tools. A beautiful silk screen gave me the idea of these big donut beads. I used all the sea and sand colors, and used more than one color to imprint the pattern. I absolutely love this color combination, you may have noticed it!
An awesome texture sheet was also in my July CA box. I am basically a bead maker, so I made a Skinner blend consisting of peacock pearl and metallic hues with the addition of a thin pearl layer above it. Then I pressed the texture sheet to imprint the pattern and shaved it with my blade. Cut the shaved skinner blend in stripes and wrapped some beads with the pieces. Here are my teardrop beads.
Since the inner side of the shavings was really beautiful, I used them and made some more small round beads. I used even the leftovers and made these twisted beads as well.
Using a shell I found in my CA box, I made this faux shell with a pearl inside. I used scrap clay which was painted with a wonderful pearl mica powder which was also in the box. A small bail on top turns the faux shell to a pendant, a charm and so on.
I love these small flexible stencils I find from time to time in my CA box. I used it to make a summer pair of earrings which is decorated with Czech glass beads.
