FOCUS ISSUES: Around the World
Come with us on a creative adventure as we explore art influenced by the the cultures of the world. Our cover artist is Carla M. Thomas. Carla's work is always almost instantly recognizable. A perfect blend of colors, techniques, and shapes are taken to the next level, with added details, often exhibiting an exotic feel. Carla is also a Create Along Design Team member this year and we are excited to share her work as a team member, as well as in this issue of Passion for Polymer. She shares a gorgeous tutorial for "Fan Dance" jewelry that we know you will love. The Polymer Chef is showing you how you can transform canes and other clay into a very unique home decor project. I'm sharing a rather challenging attempt at recreating "faux ancient Asian jade" - which I just had to laugh at myself throughout. You'll also meet another polymer artist who is giving back to her community through her art. We've got a lovely floral project from Anastasia Kondel, a colorful option for bottle art by Sandy Huntress, and fabulous project from the African Rain Goddess project by Orieta Dimadi. We are so excited to not only bring you tutorials inspired by places around the world, but also created by artists around the world! In The Color Corner with Jessica Hager, Jessica shares how to create a absolutely GORGEOUS color palette inspired by the island of Bermuda. Check it out and learn how you could possibly be published in an upcoming issue. And, as always, our Gallery has many unique projects to inspire you! Thank you to all who participate in our monthly challenges! We would love to have you share your versions of the techniques and projects each month in our Create Along Polymer Clay Tribe Facebook group - an amazing, creative, interactive community with over 20,000 members from around the world. Join the group at PolymerClayTribe.com.As always, we encourage all artists to submit their work for consideration for upcoming issues. Passion for Polymer is YOUR magazine.
